RexCon Mobile 12 SE Portable Concrete Plant Overview

The RexCon Mobile 12 SE is the portable plant Closner recommends when the job has outgrown compact mobile production but still needs a plant that can relocate. Astec describes the Mobile 12 SE as a self-erecting portable concrete plant available in both Mobile 12 SE-CM central-mix and Mobile 12 SE-TM transit-mix configurations.

The hydraulic self-erect package is the practical advantage. The base plant uses a 13 hp hydraulic power pack, 80 gal reservoir, landing-leg cylinders, bin or silo cylinders, and mainframe support cylinders so crews can raise the plant into operating position quickly. On the CM version, the mixer charge chute and 12 yd portable tilt mixer are also part of the self-erect package.

For Texas contractors, that combination matters. Highway reconstruction, toll-road packages, airport paving, bridge work, and fast-growing subdivision corridors often need more production than a compact plant can provide, but the job may still be temporary enough that a permanent foundation is the wrong investment.
