Stewart-Amos Mechanical Broom Sweeper

Starfire S-4c

4 yd³ dual-engine mechanical broom sweeper on a compact cab-over chassis. No CDL required. SCAQMD PM-10 certified. Ideal for city streets, cul-de-sacs, and milling jobs.

Overview

Built for the way Texas crews work

The Stewart-Amos Starfire S-4c is a heavy-duty 4.0 cubic yard dual-engine mechanical broom street sweeper built on a highly maneuverable 19,500 lb GVWR cab-over chassis. It gives contractors and municipalities productive mechanical broom sweeping without requiring a CDL under the published chassis rating.

The S-4c is designed for day-in, day-out sweeping on confined city streets, cul-de-sacs, construction cleanup, milling work, chip seal cleanup, and open-road applications. Its short wheelbase, 16 ft 9 in turning radius, 10 ft maximum sweeping path, and highway-speed travel make it a practical choice when one sweeper needs to move quickly between scattered jobs.

Stewart-Amos keeps the machine intentionally serviceable: spring-balanced brooms, a three-shaft elevator, electric-over-hydraulic controls, protected wiring, standard camera visibility, and wide-open access points all support the company's Effectively Simple design philosophy.

4.0 cu yd volumetric debris hopper on a compact cab-over chassis.

19,500 lb GVWR published chassis rating; no CDL required.

10 ft maximum sweeping path with dual 42 in gutter brooms.

Features

Starfire S-4c advantages

Exclusive three-shaft elevator

The third shaft supports return-chain geometry, reduces chain slap, extends chain wear life, and helps maintain unrestricted debris movement through the elevator.

Spring-balanced broom pressure

The full-floating main broom and gutter brooms automatically compensate for wear, reducing operator judgment and helping maximize broom life.

Stable high-dump hopper

A four-corner hopper lift and quad double X-style scissors provide stability when dumping wet, sticky, or unbalanced debris at heights up to 11 ft.

Compact non-CDL maneuverability

The 109 in wheelbase cab-over chassis creates a tight 16 ft 9 in turning radius for neighborhoods, downtown streets, parking lots, and confined jobs.

Dust-control water package

A 200 gallon tank, 3.6 gpm pump, spray bar, gutter broom nozzles, main broom nozzles, and elevator wash-down support dusty municipal and construction work.

Service-friendly systems

Electric-over-hydraulic controls, pressure gauges, protected wiring, case drains, lockable canopies, and open service access keep troubleshooting straightforward.
